The #1 reason closets are full of clutter is because we are lured by advertisers to buy the latest trend even if it isn’t right for us!
Stores are now full of the latest fashions for Spring.
The good news is that the trend is soft, feminine, and nature inspired. It’s a season of pretty – florals, lace, and ruffles.
The bad news is that these do not necessarily look great on everyone. But those, who do not know their personal archetype style, may buy them anyway since they look cute on the models in the magazines.
As an example, the WOOD type person thrives in more tailored, simple lines, or athletic style clothes. Therefore, frills and dainty ruffles are not in sync with this person’s personal archetype.
Botanical prints are showing up everywhere including sheets, throw pillows, wall paper and clothing. This is soo ‘Biophilia‘, which is exactly what we want in feng shui.
But again, one must be careful of the size of the floral pattern in the clothing that is choosen. Tall women can handle a large, bold design, and short, tiny or bosomy women may do better with smaller floral patterns.
A minimal palette of soft colors may be just the thing to evoke a sense of calm for everyday wear. Whereas, prints that are too busy, could prove to be difficult to match up with other things in the wardrobe in the morning dash, when time is limited.
So, the outfit that isn’t the right color, style, or easy to wear for every occasion, may become another clutter statistic.
