Celebrate the Feng Shui of Autumn

Autumn in Feng Shui  is a transition time when we shift from the peak of Yang activity in the summer  to the beginning of a Yin period, a time when nature starts to contract inwards.

In my classes, I teach that feng shui is a cyclical, energy practice. If we follow the natural way of living, ‘we-humans’ also need to slow down in Autumn, the 5 element season -Metal, and restore the energy within our bodies and mind which we depleated over the busy summer.

Thus, our immune systems will be strong enough in the winter to avoid colds, flu, etc

Find a cozy feng shui space to sit with no distractions and preferably where you can look out to Nature.

Here you can mindfully ‘quiet your thoughts’ and reflect on the intentions you manifested all year.

Slowly breathe in and out like a gentle wind with healthy lungs, the 5 element organ -Metal. (Repeating this exercise often is beneficial to asthmatics, in lieu of ingesting heavy medications.)

The Winds of Autumn’s Song

The winds of Autumn

Turning the leaves to Gold

Our Hearts Celebrate the Harvest and Gifts

That Nature has bestowed

Another Year passes into the Next

We are Grateful for the Rest

A good glass of Wine

A warm Fire

Burns Slowly

IN Our Hearts

The Music of Our Soul

Plays Joyfully in the Peace and Friendship

That We Share

As you will see, his work is a mythic amalgamation of ancient healing practices and the present trends in spirituality, science, and nature, resulting in a true fusion of East and West. This is what the richness of feng shui is all about…it goes much deeper than just the decor.

Blending of modernity and ancient traditions, are a T’ai Chi…integration of both the Yin and the Yang for balance. In American culture, we tend to think that our way is the best and only way.

Extreme House Make-overs are soo- out of balance!

Autumn is a good time to reflect on what you would like to study this coming year for your continued self-growth.

Are you ready for the T’ai Chi of  learning more about the ancient Taoist healing practices which include feng shui, food energetics, Qigong, etc. /  and beginning to apply them to your modern daily life to promote a more wholistic lifestyle for your total well-being?
