The Energy of Empty Streets in Paris

Liberating Energy of Empty Streets

How would we ‘feel’ if the energy of San Francisco streets was quiet for one day?

The August 19, 2015 Forbes magazine reports that Paris will do just this – the streets of Paris will be closed to ‘le car’ on September 27, 2015.

Can you imagine what this will do for pedestrians’ immune systems? No angry motorists honking horns, no anxiety from cars running red lights, no sirens from police chases. Voila!

Instead of watching out for speeding cars, everyone will be able to slow down and actually feel the energy of spaciousness, view the grand trees, and absorb the abundance of colorful flowers everywhere. This is feng shui and biophilia at its grandest.

If Paris can do it, so can we…in all the big cities of the world. A paradigm shift is underway in Urban Developments to get rid of the car and use bicycles, Uber, or even good old-fashioned walking…this is a 21st century energy shift!

70% of our time is now spent indoors glued to the computer, or inside the car on long, stressful commutes.

The study of biophilia has suggested that human affiliation to the outdoors is encoded in our genes…we just lost it with the advent of the car and moves away from nature.

But that can change by bringing more of nature to the city, to our workplaces, and to our homes. This is what I specialize in…call me for some assistance.

Why do big companies insist on employees working around the clock…the Amazon way? If they want more coverage 24/7, then hire more people.

Just because people are sitting at their desk, does not mean  they are being productive. Studies have shown that our mental capacities are much sharper after we restore our bodies…especially in nature.

Instead of luring the best & the brightest to large companies with fancy lunches, cleaning pick-up, entertainment etc. perhaps incentives for more time off  to be out in nature would be a win-win. Then smaller companies will follow in their footsteps.

When do the best ideas come…on the mountaintop, playing at the beach, walking in the forest when your body & mind are relaxed! That is work at its most creative.

By getting outside we can clear our head by breathing in the energy of fresh air, receive the benefits of natural sunlight, and walk with a buddy ‘in person’ instead of digitally like robots.
